From the luxurious private room, a threatening growl echoed. Shen Mingyu clenched his fist, his eyes narrowed, revealing a handsome yet sinister face.

Behind him, a row of black-garbed subordinates stand ready to move at any given command, their hands already reaching for their waists. Seated directly across him, Lin Luodai did not display any sign of fear. As if everything happening was not of her concern, she sat upright, her slender figure emanating an indomitable spirit.

Underneath her plain glasses, a pair of beautiful double-lidded eyes fluttered unflinchingly, painting a picture of indifference across her exquisite face.

Oval-faced, with fair skin, Lin rarely smiled. Adorned with black-framed glasses, her hair neatly pulled back by a black hair band, she was always impeccably dressed in a black suit and trousers, regardless of the season. That was the image Lin Luodai chose to project.

She curled her lips, revealing a chilly smile as she looked at Shen Mingyu, "What's the matter? Mr. Shen, are you trying to coerce me into submission?" As she tilted her head slightly, her smooth face showed nothing but disdain and fearlessness.

Shen Mingyu gestured with a wave of his hand, causing his black-clad henchmen to obediently retreat. With both hands placed on the table, he straightened his tall figure, looking down at Lin Luodai, "Prosecutor Lin, this could be a win-win deal. As long as you do not target me, with my influence, I can certainly support Mayor Lin.”

Lin Luodai shot to her feet, her slender figure straightening and towering over Shen Mingyu. The contempt in her eyes intensified and her voice rang out resolutely, "Mr. Shen, whether or not my father becomes governor is his business. My duty... is to investigate cases!”

Picking up her purse from the table, she downed the glass of water left on the table. With an air of indifference, she said, “I've recorded every detail of our meeting tonight. She swiftly opened her purse, tossed a pink bill onto the table, and continued, "I didn't touch any of the food on this table, so I won't pay for it. These 100 dollars... is for the water!” After finishing, she turned and walked out clunking on her mid-height block heels.

"Boss!" A man stepped out from behind Shen Mingyu, watched Lin Luodai’s figure disappear behind the tightly shut door, and murmured, "Should we...”

"No need!" Shen Mingyu's facial expression showed no signs of anger, but rather a slow-spreading, sinister smile. He glanced at the empty glass, "Tonight, she's sure to do as I say, there's no other choice! The drug will take effect soon, follow her and take her to the guest room, then report back to me!" He then handed over a set of keys, rubbed his chin harshly with his thumb and strode out of the private room.

Where am I? Lin Luodai slowly opened her eyes, only to be engulfed in darkness. She shifted her body, feeling a soft bed beneath her. Touching her body, she immediately exclaimed, "Not good!"

Apart from a thin blanket, there was nothing on her body! As she quickly sat up, a wave of dizziness caused her to fall back onto the bed. Lin Luodai’s mind raced, and Shen Mingyu's face appeared in her thoughts, he had drugged her!

She had to get out immediately! Wrapping herself in the blanket tightly, she attempted to detect her current location.

Bang! The room suddenly lit up as the previously firmly closed door was opened, and the person who came in was Shen Mingyu, with a smirk plastered on his face. Lin Luodai pulled the blanket tighter, while Shen Mingyu tutted, "I never imagined Prosecutor Lin would look this enchanting."

"What are you trying to do!" exclaimed Lin Luodai. Her usually restrained hair was now loosen, cascading over her shoulders, her glasses nowhere to be found, revealing her beautiful eyes and her perfectly structured face. With her slightly bare shoulders, she indeed presented an unusual elegance. Shen Mingyu stared at her greedily, his Adam's apple moving unconstrained. He began slowly, "As of now, I don't want to do anything, but..."

The hand he had placed behind his back came forward, revealing several printed papers filled with words. He chuckled evilly and said, "If Prosecutor Lin agrees to sign these papers, let's pretend that nothing happened tonight. Rest assured, your clothes were taken off by the maid, and she will return them to you."

Lin Luodai lifted her head, reading the content of the papers swiftly and tightly furrowed her brows once understood. She angrily turned her face away, grinding her teeth, "Impossible!" It was an investigation report, clearly stating that Shen Mingyu has never bribed the Land Bureau. They had obtained the piece of land in the city center through a fair bidding process.

How could she possibly sign something she had not investigated?

The mischievous grin on Shen Mingyu's face quickly disappeared. His fingers clenched into a fist, knuckles cracking, as a shrewd glint appeared in his eyes. "Prosecutor Lin, I suggest you think it over. I hope you can give me a satisfying answer. Because..." his icy gaze slid over Lin Luodai's face, settling on her partially exposed pale neck, "few men can resist a beauty like Prosecutor Lin, and I'm no exception."
